MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To provide effective legal support on commercial matters while developing professional expertise within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to informed business decisions and ensuring the organisation operates within sound legal and regulatory frameworks.
JUNIOR LEGAL ADVISOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Legal Advisory & Contract Management
- Draft, review, vet, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with internal and external stakeholders regarding contractual terms, risks, and commercial positions.
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and a developing technical understanding of the transactions and solutions involved.
- Proactively build understanding of the business, its products, services, and operational environment.
- Identify, assess, and clearly articulate legal and commercial risks to relevant stakeholders.
Tenders & Proposals
- Review tender documentation and prepare/compile compliant, accurate submissions.
- Ensure alignment with legal, commercial, and compliance requirements.
Risk & Compliance
- Support enterprise risk management initiatives, including the identification and escalation of potential legal and contractual risks.
- Draft and update internal policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations and internal governance frameworks.
REQUIREMENTS:
Internal Training associated with competencies:

REQUIREMENTS:
- LLB Degree (Required)
- BCom Degree (Advantageous)
- + 1 year’s in-house commercial legal experience, preferably within the IT sector.
- Experience in the IT distribution industry will be advantageous.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills: able to collaborate in a team and operate independently.
- Solid drafting skills with a focus on clarity and precision.
- Good commercial understanding with the ability to balance legal risk and business needs.
- Self-starter who takes ownership of tasks from initiation to completion.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and work ethic.
ABILITY TO MEET JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
OFFICE REQUIREMENTS:
- Office-based working environment.
- Semi-formal dress code.
- Working hours are from 08:00 – 17:00.
- Excellent international business language skills (English), both written and verbal.
- Reliable transport to and from the office.
NOTE:
- This is a permanent position subject to a successful three-month probationary period.
- You will be required to perform such duties as reasonably required by the business.
